Lavender Time and Babies too!

Lavender picking time here
at Wildflower.
Out front I created gravel pathways
that meander through the gardens.
I planted heather and lots of lavender.
Makes a great combination and the
deer and elk leave it alone.
I took these pictures in bright
sunlight so the true color seems
a bit faded.
Inside you can see the deep color.
Also while I was gathering I checked
out my chickadee house as every morning
I can hear the babies.
Yup there is momma feeding the babes!
Sorry about the photo and shadows
but didn't want to upset her.
You can click on photo's to
Well off to town to meet the
posse for lunch.
Have a great day!

How lucky are you to have all that lavender. When I lived down south I always had plans to grow a few bushes together as I had read once where somebody threw there sheets over the top to dry. What a lovely smell that would be. Great photos Sharon.

I love your lavender, I'm really having a hard time finding a good place for mine to grow, I was surprised it came back this year as it seemed to struggle last year,it did come back but a very small bunch. such pretty gardens.

Hi Sharon,
Your garden of lavender and heather is awesome. I have one lavender plant..... not a big deal but I do love the fragrance. Very calming.
How do you harvest it and when?

Nice photos, Sharon! I have one lavender plant finally after struggling to get one to "take". The bunnies seem to leave it alone, too. Great weather lately, eh? Lots of gardening time..... Hope you had a nice lunch!

Can't get enough lavender - I picked a huge bunch at a lavender fair with my daughter, but my own three bushes are looking very unhappy, so will propagate this autumn. Yours looks wonderful!

Beautiful! I am in love with lavender. I have some plants but want to make a lavender walkway full of assorted varieties. Perhaps I will add heather too.
