The Return of The Christmas Spider

Don't let the title scare you...when I read it I had to laugh...

Last year I made these little spiders and they sold out.

I  have been asked to make more ,so I did and where you can

find them is listed at the bottom of this post.

The Legend of The Christmas Spider

A long time ago my mother gave me a precious little spider to hang on my Christmas tree. She told me there was an old German legend about the Christmas Spider. I have always hung my spider on my tree ever since.

This year I decided to make some to share with you. I recreated them with glass beads, Swarovski crystallized green eyes , a wood body painted silver and sprinkled with crystal fine glitter. They have a sweet red silk poinsettia with a tiny pearl on their back. They swing gently on a gilded silver thread.

I made these cute little gift boxes for the spiders to arrive in. They make nice little gifts for your friends too!

I also made a booklet of the story of the Legend of the Christmas Spider that is included. I sell them in batches of three as they don't like to travel alone! I shall list them at The
Wildflowerhouse Shoppe, my Etsy and my ArtFire shop.

You've sure been busy lately, Sharon. Must say that your spiders are a big improvement on the real ones that are everywhere at the moment! I love that legend.

Hi Sharon! Thanks for your sweet comment today. Scary about that bear at your place. Usually I feel the same way about spiders...this one that you have created is super cute though! Such a fun post. As for the poster of the bear on my blog, that came from the Duke University images website. You are free to grab it off my blog or have even more fun at the Duke images site, i.e. vintage advertising, store ads, etc. Have a great week! ~~ Angela
