Christmas Shopping in a Monsoon!

I went Christmas shopping in Seattle with my son yesterday.
I couldn't believe the rain and warm temps after a
foot of snow at Thanksgiving. Yesterday it was in
the 50's and a monsoon. Even the frogs were having trouble.
I am sure I saw one trying the backstroke.
Today they are worried about the rivers flooding here in
western Washington because of the rain and the
snow melt in the mountains.
That should really get the frogs hopping!
We really had a great time and I just about
finished my shopping. Did a lot of walking
and enjoying the sites and sounds.
They were having the "Pathway of Light" last night
at Greenlake with paper luminaries (5,000 candles) all the way
around the lake (3.1 miles).

( Thank you Friends of Greenlake for photo )
A lot of the lanterns burned out
because of the rain but a lot of the walkers and their pets
were lit up with Christmas lights. So festive and bright!
When I got home it was late and all I wanted
was a warm shower but it was occupied....
They say more rain for the next 5 days....!

You had the warmer weather and the rain. We had the bitter cold, high winds, and snow. It is only 15 today, but the wind chill is what is so miserable. I like the snow, but not like what other people are getting. We didn't get a lot of snow, which I am very thankful. I enjoyed your post. Your Missouri friend.

That's some crazy weather were having? We snowed, hailed, rained yesterday and then it melted during the night and no more snow just tons of wetness! Yuck it's a mess, glad to hear you had a nice time anyway. The luminaries and dogs must have been so great. Have a safe Sunday.

Hasn't this rain been crazy? Everything is SO squishy. Wish I'd have known about the GL walk, that sounded fun.

Sharon we too here in Australia are having unseasonal rain and buckets of it with floods everywhere - it really is a cool summer but our garden is just LOVING it and less for us to do as a result. Keep dry and warm and hope you have now finished your Christmas preparations. Have a most wonderful Christmas with your family and I look forward to seeing more of your lovely creative work in 2011.
All good cheer,
Hugs, Suzy

Hi Sharon,
your works are beautiful, I see that you have the same breed as the Maltese dog, me and my children, we have a female Donja, are so dear and faithful dogs, I love her like my own child, quiet, wonderful dog.
I greet,
Wanda
