A Fun Birthday!

We started out at the Carl S English Jr. Botanical Gardens.
It is filled with rare trees and shrubs.
And these Canadian Geese.
This is right next to the Hiram Chittenden Locks
also known as the Ballard locks by the locals. It is the locks
that takes you from salt water to fresh water and vice versa. We
used to take our sailboat through.(I always felt nervous :-0) didn't
like being next to the wall. I digress... so we visited the locks too.
Then we were off to dinner at Ray's Boathouse
on Shilshole bay. I had the best Cioppino ever.
The sun was setting on a wonderful day.
But wait there's more....
Oh so yummy!
I am wearing a beautiful necklace from Vicki
from 2bagsfull. It is beautiful sea glass and lots of sparked
jewels. Just beautifully made. I had several comments on it
so was glad I had the designers card for reference. Thank
you Vicki for this gorgeous gift.
Speaking of gifts, I wanted one thing and that was a draftsman chair
for my drafting table . Well we took our son back to his vehicle and...
presented to me right there in the parking lot. LOL
Most girls want jewelry and perfume but oh no
not this gal!!! I was tickled pink.
Sorry for the long post but what's a girl to do when she has a lot to say!

Happy Happy Birthday. It looked as though you had a wonderful birthday. The lock brought back memories of when I went to visit my brother. He took us to see a lock on the Mississippi River and we got to see a barge come through. It was fun to watch. Your Chair will be really useful and looks so comfy. Have a great day. Dear Sharon:
It looks like you had a wonderful birthday, my friend. I hope your year is filled with all your hearts desires...starting with the great drafting chair. I asked for a washer and dryer for my birthday one year (and got it). I was thrilled. I know how you feel!
Big Birthday Hugs,
xoxo

Belated birthday wishes! You spent the day doing some of my favorite things in Seattle. Does Ray's still have that to die for artichoke appetizer? I was always hesitant about the locks - the hemmed in feeling. Thank you for sharing your day. I feel homesick for Seattle.

Your trip to the Locks bring back so many memories- that was a favorite spot for my Uncle and ME!! I never liked traversing the locks either but our boat yard was on the cheaper side of town so we had to do it!! I so miss the PNW!!! So glad that you had a wonderful day. I am with you about wanting useful comfartabel things rather than jewelry- but your necklace does look divine!!!

I am always late to the party...It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I was drooling over the food, admiring your beautiful necklace, and totally agree - a good chair is worth every penny! [plus having your son surprise you is priceless] Sounds like a perfect day. Belated wishes for a fabulous year Sharon. You so deserve it!!!
