WhenThe Sun Shines I Go Sketching...

The sun was shining last week so I headed
out to do a little sketching and watercolor.
This is the old train station in Snoqualmie WA.
They have restored it beautifully and I love visiting there.
The spring flowers were showing their heads and it was just
a delightful afternoon.
When I got home I sketched part of the front
of our home. It is a log home with a great
deal of detail. Surrounded by lots of plants.
This was a fun time and I owe it all to my new
little purchase!!!
 This my friends is
The Koi!
It is a pocket field sketch box complete
with 24 colors,a palette,2 sponge cleaning
surfaces,a thumb ring underneath
for holding it with one hand and a water brush.
All this in a 4 5/8 x 8 5/8 x 1 1/8 inches. Fits right
in my purse. Can you tell I love it. Everything you might
need in one little compact case. I did add my little
sketching pencil and I always have a Micron pen with me.
Today is studio cleanup day so my Koi will have a little rest.

What a treasure for you!
It's sunny up here today, but still no flowers showing their faces.

Now this is a wonderful way to see the area you live in. Certainly, seeing it through your eyes. Beautiful artwork Sharon.

I have never commented here before, but your watercolor of the train station just brought back so many memories. I now live on the east side of the state, but when traveling to the parents in Snohomish, the train station is the marker that says we are almost there. Thanks for sharing your beautiful sketchbook.

You are one very creative soul! Your sketchbook makes me drool. Is that too much information??? What talent but then I knew that from your ribbon embroidery and other works of art. Give little Teddy a warm belly rub from a fan in NC.

I love your sketches! I've never painted anywhere but right in my home. Maybe I should get The Koi and try my hand out and about.

You are soooo good! I love the idea of sketching (along with those who prefer to photograph) but this is soo much more personal - it's through your eyes and your interpretation! Love love love it! Where did you find your little gem of a toy??

Your paintings are so Pretty Sharon! Here, they tore down our train station, that's Port Huron for you, it was over 100 years old and the architecture was so beautiful. How lucky to still have the building in WA that you can visit.

Beautiful! I think it would be wonderful to live in a log hone.

LOVE this, Sharon! I only go out to walk and then run back in because it is still too cold to spend time outdoors.
I love your paintings & the Koi sounds perfect!!!
