This weeks color is pinks and my spider lily
fit the bill. Once again it is a watercolor
that I added to my Grow journal, that I made.
I am filling it with plants that I have grown
for 2011. You can click on images to enlarge.
I also added this foxglove that grows
prolifically all over our property. It comes
up in many colors. I added a Neocolor wax
pastel for the centers of the individual flower.
The rest is watercolor. I don't think I like
the Neocolor on this one. Too bright...
I took a photo of the top as it
was starting to rain and I wanted to
get the shape and colors right.
Sorry no photo of the Spider Lily .
I must get more organized in the photo
dept., someday....

These are both so pretty...I can only imagine how beautiful your garden is. Thanks for visiting me. Sounds like you had a wonderful dinner last night! :) Nan
I find myself looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations - the flowers remind me of vintage floral illustrations and are each so soft and feminine. Your book is going to be amazing. Thank you for sharing them here, xo
These are both really pretty. What a beautiful flower journal you are going to have this year!
Lovely pink flowers....when you're all finished your journal will be filled with beauty.

I adore foxgloves, Sharon! We had tons of them in the garden at our last house, and I miss them! Your watercolor of them is just gorgeous. Your skills are growing by leaps and bounds! Hugs, Terri xoxo
PS Thank you, thank you, Sweet Friend, for your lovely comment and sweet words. You made my heart sing! xoxoxo
Thanks for visiting my blog last week -
I love the flower sketches - I'm not very good at them so am totally in awe of those who can make drawings actually look like the flowers. Perfect for the pink theme - I expected more flowers, less faces, so it's a nice variation!
Love the pinks...especially the foxgloves. Happy in the pink to you...
Both are very pretty indeed...xxx
I really like where your painting is going..beautiful!
The foxgloves grow all over the place up here and I love them. I never know where they'll pop up - always a surprise.
Your spiderlily is beautiful but I agree with you about the foxglove. By the way I love foxgloves, they are so elegant.

Gorgeous flowers, you are going to have an amazing journal when you are finished :)
Your watercolors are gorgeous! LOVE the pinks in these. :)
I love your flowers. I would love to take a class in watercolor painting. So far I just play on my own, but my results are not as stunning as yours.
I am so excited about your Grow Journal! What a great idea. I LOVE flowers in my gardens and the accidental ones all around the fields (that have scattered from my green-thumbed neighbor, most likely!) so this just thrilled me. Foxglove has always been a favorite. Someday, I will paint hydrangeas(!). Anyway, I LOVE your pinks and more. Thank you for sharing and for visiting my Blog. I am happy to meet you and now follow you! Happy Yellow! Happy Summer of Color! ~kathy
