A Special Giveaway

When Lyric Kincard asked me to review
her new DVD
I said sure. When it came I slipped it into the player
and was transpired into another world. Now I do
beading but I sure learned a lot from this fabulous
DVD. I had been working in watercolor and put it all aside.
Out came the wool felt, the beads, the needles and away I
went. Listening to the DVD as I went. I felt like I was
beading with an old friend. She has a special way of
making everything easy and fun. I learned things I had never
tried before. Lyric has a great sense of humor that
makes learning something new easy and fun.
So without further expounding from me, here is
the giveaway. To win this fabulous DVD just answer this
question, "What is your favorite type of bead and how would you use it?"
I shall have Teddy (blindfolded of course) pick the winner on
Sept.24th.

Tough question! To me all beads are exotic & wonderful! Right now my favorite beads are random samplings of seed beads, pony beads, Czech glass beads, wood bead and polymer clay beads - a grab bag of sorts - used as fringe on hand knitted scarves.

Your work is gorgeous!

Lovely piece you made to Lyric's inspiration. My favorite beads are seed beads, because you can do so much with them.

Oh Sharon! what a great give away! I love working with tear drop and bugle beads, for flowers, bugs, etc. Come on Teddy! Can I bribe you with some treats?

I love using the bugle beads on my quilts.

I have been following and following; I so wish to win this DVD! These days, my favourite is the glass bugle beads I bought in Oregon this summer - they are rainbow coloured, and I can't wait to try them in an art quilt!

Oh, and I must say that it's pretty cool to be the first to comment, lol!

I am such a novice at beads that I don't know which is my favorite kind of bead...but I'd sure love to learn! Would love to win the DVD

I am such a novice that I don't know what kind of bead to say. I just know that they are pretty and would love to win the DVD so I can learn the names!

Favorite beads? Wow, no idea. I am lucky to be able to go to the Tucson Gem Show every year, as a wholesale buyer, so I buy lots of everything - sometimes semi-precious stones that have lots of character and veining to them, and sometimes beads. Last year's biggest buy was this gorgeous red tear-drop shaped bead for one of the many pieces percolating in my head. With Lyric's DVD, I would no doubt add much more to Tucson's economy this next show, as there will be WAY more beads I want to buy!!

I think seed beads are my favorite because they're so versatile. I especially love tiny size 15s, but it's a bit hard to find a needle that works with them. What would I make with them? Delicious beaded fringe!

Right now I like the chunky glass beads (ask tomorrow and it might be different) with rich, intense color. I'm using them to fill in the field of text

My answer to Kelli Perkins question yesterday (that for some reason didn't get posted??) about what I would bead might interest you, Sharon.... I would be our Washington State Capitol Building's dome!!! It needs something ... can't you imagine it sparkling in the sun and night lights!!! Would love to win Lyric's DVD... I'd need all the help I could get ...! ~Midge

(Psst! Teddy! Over here! I have homemade biscuits and Jerky treats!) Ahem, my favorite beads were my Great Gram's. They are turn of the century glass Czekoslavakian seed beads. I scatter them on projects for family so that we all can have a reminder of Great Gram. Thanks for the opportunity Sharon and Lyric!

I like bugle beads, as they take up a lot of space, and stand out nicely. I also like flashy, sparkly beads, and that is generally why I am putting them on my quilt...to show off!

I love every bead ever made and want them all!!! My current favorite is a gold cube, because I am working on Christmas stuff and it looks great. But every project has a new favorite, so I could never pick just one. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of this DVD!

I love seed beads and LOTS of them!

Dotti said...

I love to stack up all sizes of seed beads.

I am partial to the larger special lampwork beads made for necklaces. Maybe it would work to use one or a few on a small wallhanging with many smaller coordinating beads. I suppose there's really no end to what you can design with beads!

Marcia W. said...

I would like to win this DVD because have never worked with beads and would like to learn for embellishing crazy quilt blocks. Enjoyed your blog - this is the first I've ventured into looking at this new-to-me technique. Thanks.
