I am late for a very important date!
That being my July calendar with
Kathryn Wheel.
Life got in the way but here it is.
As you might see the last few days have been a bit
exciting. First fire watch went up to dangerous level
Sunday. I always get a little nervous when that
starts. Then last night my hero TEDDY let me know
that there was a HUGE B-E-A-R below our deck.
I grabbed Teddy and got in the house just as the
bear came around to the deck stairs. He was not
at all frightened of us. Game department is
coming tomorrow to access the situation. They
caught one 2 years ago in our driveway and shipped him North
over the Cascades. The bear problem has really
escalated in the last year or two.
I no longer feel safe on the property
as they do not seem to fear us at all.
Here is my June calendar . As you can see
it wasn't filled out to well. I got tired of painting
clouds and raindrops. LOL That's my excuse
and I'm sticking with it.

Hi Sharon, This has been a summer for the fires and I don't think I would be able to handle having a bear that close. I have thought about our family in Colorado. They said that it got close, but they were o.k.. We have family that works for the forest rangers so you just pray a lot that they are kept safe. I always love to see what you have been doing. Have a wonderful day. Your Missouri Friend.
Wow Sharon, fire and bears? I'm glad everything worked out and that you and your family are safe.
I love your calendar, even though it isn't as full as you'd like!
Good boy, Teddy! Glad you two hightailed it inside. Your drawn calendar pages are lovely. Have a great day. Tammy
Oh my goodness a bear around the house. I should starve from fear I think!!!!!!! I never saw one in real, besides in the zoo.......
Take good care and stay inside.....
here in France weather is also bad!!!!! Not much sunshine and a lot of rain.I don't know where summer has gone!!!!
I'll mail you about the kimono fabric.
Sharon!!!!
I guess your stress level is about as high as it can get with the worry of fires and BEARS!
You live in such a glorious part of the world but there always seems to be a glitch in everything thought to be perfect.. I pray you keep safe .. I cannot imagine looking out to see a bear!
I get upset just thinking about it,
You certainlky have a way with the paintbrush. Your calendars are so beautiful...Keep up the good work "Inside" where it is safe until the bear is gone :)))
xoxo
((((hugs))))
Maggie
Teddy gets several extra treats! What a guy! I wouldn't feel safe either. I love teddy bears, but I wouldn't be happy face to face with a real live BEAR!!! The zoo is the closest I want to get.
Sharon - your calendars are darling - so glad you are safe - fire is scary - it is so dry here I am concerned that one could start as well. Bears we don't seem to have but if we did I would be like you...one never knows with a bear what they will do. You Take care - God Bless!
Two more wonderful pages Sharon. I still have to do something for my July page. Have been moving my book around all week with me but always find something else to do. That sounds like the bear incident was a bit too close for comfort. Take care...I am glad you have Teddy to alert you.
Bears? that could be worse than the gators I live with in my backyard.
oh .... your calendar is better late than never , it;s so fantastic, I just can't get my head together , but I will soon...

love your hand drawn calendars, you are a great artist.
What a fantastic little dog you have to warn you about the bear, so scary and fires to worry about too. Over here in England we have floods to worry about the amount of rain we have had is unbelievable.
Oops! Here I am sneaking in at last minute! Well, it’s still July isn’t it?! Really beautiful hand-drawn pages. Love the flag in July :-)
Wow! A bear? We don't have to worry about things like that in England...sounds a little too exciting ....
