A Gourd I've Been Working On

After seeing all the beautiful Fall leaves I decided
to create their images on one of my gourds. I call it
Falling Leaves.
I love burning and  staining the gourds. But I don't
like the cleaning out. It is a chore and one has to wear a mask
to protect one's lungs. In the end I think it is well worth the effort.
I use dyes that are made for gourd work. The colors really stay true
and last much longer than leather dye.
Just a little break from sewing and painting.

Sharon, I just wanted to tell you how absolutely wonderful the Collage Camp was with KC Willis in Colorado. I went last week and it was so much fun, you just have to go! She is precious and taught us so many new things. There were only two of us students so we got alot of quality one-on-one time. It was 5 days and I made one large collage, two smaller collages, a 5-page collage book and a 3-D altered book collage. Hopefully I will post them on my blog next week. It was perfect weather, the entire week was in the 70's. She has a precious little dog, Fiona, and a "hunk" young husband too. I would highly recommend it to anyone, it was worth every penny and more. Have a good weekend.

Sharon, the stain is my favorite part. How beautiful. I didn't know there was stain expecially for gourds. Thanks for the lesson. Your work is lovely as always.
