A Spring Walk Before the Cold Weather Returned

We had a really beautiful day , a few days ago.
So Teddy and I headed out on the property to
see what was happening. The periwinkle was
popping up on the hillside. I remember planting over 1000
starts 20 some years ago. My knees still hurt when I think of it.
Come on mom you are moving to slow.
Our favorite place to sit and listen to the creek in the summer.

I see the ferns need some cleaning up.
Our little creek crossing has withstood
the elk this winter.
The watercress has once again taken hold near
the little waterfalls. We really have to control it
or it takes over. It is a great filter for the water though.
That small white thing (Teddy) is way ahead
of me going up our long, long driveway. I
planted these weeping cedars 18 years ago from 1 gallon
containers. They are huge now and have survived the elk.
No real flowers to show yet as it has been so cold. We had
snow just above us last night. Brrrr! Nap time....

What a treat, to see some views of your place. I love the watercress and wonder where we could establish some.

Hi Sharon:
What a wonderful walk. Watercress! Your cedars are wonderful, too. "Hi" to Teddy from Kes and Fezzik.

Oh Sharon, have I ever mentioned I've had this dream for ages to have a house with a "long" driveway where you can't actually see the house until you turn a corner - makes my heart sing seeing yours! How lovely. Cold here this am too - can hardly wait for spring to really get here this year.

Hasn't our weather just been crazy? Is periwinkle another name for vinca? Hope you're feeling better~hugs!

So beautiful!!! We are still getting snow off & on here, and only teeny tiny bits of green beginning to appear.
Wishing you a lovely weekend, Sharon!

What a beautiful place! My grandmother's house was near a creek and I loved to hear the sound of the creek at night before going to sleep.
