Where Did August go.... and Whidbey Island

September Calendar and on time for once.
Yes soon we will be raking leaves and the squirrels
will be packing nuts away. We took a day trip to
Whidbey Island (a favorite place)

The ferry ride leaving Edmonds. The Edmonds Light House.
One of the beaches we roamed looking for
sea glass , of course. I found one tiny light blue
and that was enough for me. I didn't want to be spoiled.
We moved on to the Windy Lavender Farm. A
darling place with delightful people to help me
pick out some culinary lavender and lavender cheese.
 Oh so yummy.

 Beautiful gardens and heavenly smells.
From here we moved on to Greenbank for lunch
at a restaurant we have visited many times.
Their pies and breads are the best.
Peaking out at their gardens, I knew I had to
photograph some for you to see.

We ended the evening before we caught the ferry for home
at Primo a restaurant in Langley. It was a beautiful evening
sitting outside looking down on the water (Puget Sound).
This picture just doesn't depict how lovely it was.
I was toooo lazy to get up to take a better shot.

Remember to visit Kathryn Wheels calendar
blog and see all the neat calendars. Thanks
again Kate. I just might make it through
December.

Sounds like a beautiful day. I LOVE lavender. Believe it or not, there are lavender farms in Texas ... but the time to visit to see them at their best is when it is too darn hot! Making a trip to the NW sounds better to me!

I enjoyed this post so much. HB and I used to live in Edmonds but unfortunately we never went to Whidbey Island...now I know what we missed!

Sorry I've been so absent through most of August. The studio re-do really took much longer than we anticipated.

That sounds like a perfect little day trip. I didn't know there was such a thing as lavender cheese. I don't think I've ever tasted anything that had a hint of lavender. I did see lavender honey in the grocery store here but it cost about 60 bucks -- no way am I paying that for honey. :/ Hope your day is great. Tammy

What terrific photos, those gardens are so beautiful. Well done for keeping up with the calendar. I made it to July and lost the plot.

That calendar page really looks like September. But the fun was seeing all those lovely gardens. So different, too. As for the lavender gardens, I couldn't even begin to believe the beauty and I'm sure the scent was heavenly. Thanks for sharing.

Dear Sharon great calendar and I know you will make it through December...what a gorgeous place to visit...looking at the gardens I know now what influences your art. Just breathtaking. I too am starting to see evidence of fall and squirrel food (acorns) - summer is dwindling quickly - let's enjoy what is left. xo Debbie
