My Best Friend Took on a Elk.

My Best Friend
My sweet Teddy and I were working in the garden when a elk
wandered in. Teddy went after him and got kicked in the
head. A 20 lb. dog and a 1500 lb. elk not quite fair. Teddy
was kicked in the eye. I rushed him to the vet, praying all
the way. They ran tests on him and said I was so lucky
that his neck wasn't broken. I have been administering
eye medication twice a day and I think he will mend
nicely. He is looking much better and those
beautiful little eyes look normal again. One more
recheck with the vet, Fingers crossed.
NOW as for the elk. They are no longer welcome .
We have never had any problems before. But  I am
hearing horrible stories of what they can do to your pets.

So forgive no posts as of late but I have had my hands
full, with helping my best friend to heal.
I hope to get back to painting soon. :-)

Wow Sharon, what a close call. I'm relieved Teddy is going to be ok. Must have been such a scare. What do you have to do to block them from your yard? Scary!

I'm so glad that Teddy's shiny little eye will continue to sparkle for you! It's scary to hear what those big guys can do to little ones like him. I would have never have expected that to happen. Thank goodness you were able to get him the help he needed.

Ah Sharon - what a terrible thing to happen to your sweet Teddy. Am thinking he must be okay by now. Hope you get good news when you go to the vet. You certainly have your set of wildlife and scary moments. Take care and give Teddy a hug.

Oh my gosh, elks are actually quite dangerous animals, so your little and faithful friend was really lucky. I am so glad he is healing well ! What a scare this must have been for you !
