Sunday With Chester...

Chester woke me very early (well not really, but
I was up late the night before) very angry with me
as his breakfast was not prepared and waiting for him.
He was hanging by my window screeching as loud
as one his size could. Believe me he has a set of
lungs and an attitude to match.
"Food now, do you hear me."
So I got up ,trotted downstairs, got his
sunflowers and delivered them to a waiting impatient
Chester. Do you think he thanked me....
"Well it's about time missy......"
I think Chester has a poddy mouth but of
course I can't be sure as I don't
speak squirrel.
That's how my Sunday started out, how did yours?

PS: later he brought Chester Junior with him. I can hardly wait
to see how this turns out...

Chester is back and up to no good!

Sorry the picture was taken through the window at a "moving target".
Yes Chester has returned and now spends his time batting
at the birds as they come for food. He keeps looking for his
arch enemy Teddy and then he looks at me as if to say , Where's the Ted".
I think the little fellow misses him as I do.
Next we have my Document Life Project for week 7.
We were to draw one shape - repeat - add color.
Circles was the choice for me.
And the last  of my cards went off to Black Dog for sale.
Now I have to start thinking bunnies for Easter. :-)

A Beautiful Day...

My Saucer Magnolia is very happy to see the
sunshine and so is my peach colored rhodie.
Both are opening up and they are gorgeous.

I might add that Chester has been AWOL all day.

I have several Pieris Japonicas around the place and
they are really putting on a show this year.
I am starting to (that 4 letter word) WEED...
I must say my body would rather read
than weed. I have a feeling that by tomorrow
morning I shall be  shall we say, a bit stiff.
Here's to sunshine!!!!!!!

WANTED FOR DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR...

For those of you who have followed my blog this
furry little creature named Chester has been
with us at Wildflower for some time now.
I have treated him with great kindness such as
gourmet meals , a warm little box with a soft
furry warm blanket when it got cold, etc. He in
return has been a little gentleman until now.
He has decided my violas are his. He digs them up
and heaven only knows where he takes them. This
morning I caught him in the act as he was skipping
away down the garden path. He dropped his treasures,
so I replanted them. A little while later he reappeared,
and  disguise or not I would recognize him anywhere...
Any advice on this subject would be so very welcome!
HELP...

Sunshine and Tulips...

The tulips I saved from the Thunder Snow are happily starting
to open on this sunny day.

These are my pinks and rose colored ones.

My purples and hot pinks seem to be late
this year.
Caught Chester the resident squirrel dining
on my violas. He has no manners, but told me
he thought these were a delicacy! The nerve
of him....
What is left of the blooms on my weeping cherry
after the thunder snow. Hope mother nature has
finally settled on warmer weather.

Chester Jr. is Uncontrollable These Days...

Every morning I awake to this.
FOOD NOW....
THIS MINUTE...
DON'T CARE IF YOUR SLEEPING...
FOOD NOW!
(a friend sent this pic to me asking if it was C JR.
I would love to give credit to the photographer and
tell he or she how brave they were, but alas I do not know
who took the photo, but thank you.)
I'm going to have to work with the little fella!
Or he might get drafted...

Chester Demanded I show You This...

NO NO he said take it from another angle. So.....

I did as I was told. I asked him to pose under it and he became very upset. Telling me after all he is only about six inches high and it could crush him. I reminded the little fellow he went around planting these giant wonders in my carefully planted flower pots. I also mentioned what a good sport I have been by allowing these giant yellow plants to stay, even though they were NOT the color scheme I had planned on, let alone the size. I also mentioned that I have now found them growing in every planter on my deck and in my flower beds. He informed me this was necessary for his survival. I reminded him that I fed him all last winter and didn't get mad when he started eating my holiday wreath on the front door. He said I wasn't always on time with the feedings. Ack!! I give up! I wonder if they have squirrel training classes somewhere......

She really can carry on. This just takes the cake. I need a nap, good grief....

Look What Chester did!!!

Do you see the sign. Mmmmmm! I work very hard to fill my containers with a nice arrangement of flowers. Just the right colors and size. Right..... Well you all remember Chester my resident squirrel. Well he has generously decided to help...
Yes Chester Scattered Joy all over the place ! But this container so artistically created has Chester's touch .....
Yes that is a large sunflower (and still growing I might add)! Chester planted several of these on the grounds. I decided the little fellow worked so hard to leave them. I see him checking them out every so many days. I hope we get the seeds as he has a ferocious appetite. Now if I could only teach him to weed....

I"M LATE, I"M LATE....

Mmm. Could it be... Yes I'd recognize those little paw prints anywhere....

It's my little Chester waiting for his breakfast, threatening me that he might eat the bud off my azalea bush. Best feed him as I am behind on his schedule.LOL

The mystery solved

Every year I hang a large wreath on our front door. Well this year every time I would go out the front door I would find bits and pieces of the wreath had fallen off. I would mutter to myself about the quality of workmanship seems to be going down the drain, etc,etc.... thinking next year I will be back to making them myself.
Then I noticed an Asian pine I keep in a pot by the front door had some tiny broken branches. AND some of the pine cones from the wreath were tucked into the pot and had little chew marks. Mmmmmmm?
So I decided to pour a cup of tea, sit in my office and watch. The sun was rising on the scene and soon the culprit arrived. He was quite busy for a good half hour, scurrying from the wreath to the Asian tree. Resting between hauls, I might add. Then he saw me and acted quite innocent to say the least. It was Chester ...
our resident squirrel, who normally is very well behaved. I do think the snow has got to him. He normally hangs out by my studio and the bird feeders, being very acrobatic and hilariously entertaining. But today was different. He won my heart over so I painted a pine cone with peanut butter and rolled it in sunflower seeds for him. He was most thankful. As I went back into the house I muttered my apologies to the wreath maker and made a mental note to get Chester his own wreath next year. The little angel. Mmmm.......LOL! I need a nap...........................
