You All Are So Special

I want to thank you all for your heart warming
comments on my last post. You just don't know
how much they have helped me. I found this  and
thought  this is what your comments are. Hugs.
So now my best friend has gone to a better place and
this pooh quote is what I feel.
 Thank you all again

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope you all have a wonderful day. I keep
wondering and watching the weather in different
parts of the country. Hope it is good where you are.
We have blue skies and sunshine. Yay!!!! But
they are saying a chance of snow Sunday. I
hope not...I am not ready for that.
Teddy is having turkey today. He is having a good day
 which I am thankful for.

Thank you for your prayers, they worked!

Picture taken earlier.

Yesterday was a day  of waiting and waiting.
We arrived at the vet at 8 AM more x-rays were taken. We wait....
Finally a decision that his little lungs looked clear so
surgery was to start right away . We wait....
Finally the vet lets us know it's over and he is in
recovery. The tumor (yes tumor) was very large and
weighed about 2 pounds. Both the vet and I were
shocked at the size. Now we wait some more for
the biopsy to come back. But the vet thinks he got it all
and everything else looked clean.
So now Teddy has no spleen or tumor and is a little
lighter. We brought him home last night and they shot
him full of morphine before we left. Needless to say it
was a rough night and we will be napping today.
But I am again thanking you guys for your prayers.
I have my best friend sleeping at my feet.
Hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

Thank you all.

I have been wanting to blog and thank you all for the caring messages
you have left for me over the last week. They truly meant a lot to me.
Midnight was a great cat and I still look for her, but am left with
wonderful memories.
I don't know how to write this because I try to keep my blog
light and happy. But real life can get in the way. I thought
my dear best friend Teddy was missing his pal
Midnight and had stopped eating. So my vet and I had a talk
and I took Teddy in for a check up. We found a lump, did x-rays
and today found out it is a mass. So tomorrow morning he will
have more x-rays and if they are clear in the upper chest they
will operate to remove the tumor. As you all know
Teddy is my best friend and my heart is in my throat
right now. This has been an extremely hard week and
I am writing to ask for your prayers for  my best friend
Teddy. Thank you all so much. I'll keep in touch.

Where Have I Been.......

Well I've been taking photos of my garden and
thought you might like to see some. These Petunias are
called  Hurrah (vein mix)
Hanging basket with Callie Orange Calibrachoa
 Coleus
 Fox Glove
 Poppy
Wild Geranium
Petunia and trailing Lobelia
 Bearded Iris

 Wild Strawberry complete with BEE!
A section of our backyard. I think it's time for the machete.
Lastly my best friend has healed up nicely but stays close
to me when I am in the yard.
I have not blogged as of late because I was hit in the back
end by a semi truck. So now Teddy is taking care of me.
I should clarify that it was my car not me that got re-ended. LOL
So have not done much since as I am on medication and DR.s orders.
But "I'll be Back soon."

My Best Friend Took on a Elk.

My Best Friend
My sweet Teddy and I were working in the garden when a elk
wandered in. Teddy went after him and got kicked in the
head. A 20 lb. dog and a 1500 lb. elk not quite fair. Teddy
was kicked in the eye. I rushed him to the vet, praying all
the way. They ran tests on him and said I was so lucky
that his neck wasn't broken. I have been administering
eye medication twice a day and I think he will mend
nicely. He is looking much better and those
beautiful little eyes look normal again. One more
recheck with the vet, Fingers crossed.
NOW as for the elk. They are no longer welcome .
We have never had any problems before. But  I am
hearing horrible stories of what they can do to your pets.

So forgive no posts as of late but I have had my hands
full, with helping my best friend to heal.
I hope to get back to painting soon. :-)

EDIM For May 24, 25, 26 and 27.

Here they are. Midnight my cat and
Teddy my Bichon. Mortal enemies
by day enjoying the sunset as day
comes to an end. (Note the
crossed tails) LOL
My new Vera Bradley tote, given to me by a
dear friend. I just love it and use it every day!
Trying desperately to remove a few of these
from our deck. Augh what a job.
I saw a little girl with one of these stuck
in her hair the other day. Not a pretty
situation. My heart went out to her
mom.

Hope you are all enjoying Memorial Day.
Do take the time to remember what
this day stands for (and it's not a
bunch of sales).

The Weather Has Turned....

Woke to snow on the top third of Mount Si the other day
and the leaves turning  beautiful colors.

We have so much green in Washington that I made sure
to add Japanese Maples around the place so I would have my Fall colors.
Have been busy painting away more cards in the studio. Getting
ready for the holidays.
And Teddy has been on chipmunk patrol.
It really is a game with him and Stretch our resident munk.
I don't think Teddy would have the foggiest idea what to do if
he caught him.
I'm off to have a cup of Earl Grey tea and curl up and watch some TV.
Have a great weekend.

My Monday Thru Friday In A Nurshell

Monday started out pretty nice, getting to
have lunch with CJ and Tom on a
beautiful sunny day.
Then Tuesday happened and along came a
HUGE black bear. Teddy barked and
barked. That little dog was going to protect
me. Fortunately we were able to get into
the house. (I  am not to good at painting bears
and I really didn't think he would stay still
 for me to draw him.LOL)
So on to Wednesday.
After Teddy's run in with the bear I felt he
deserved a spa day.
My little hero!
On Thursday Washington Fish and Wildlife came to
access the HUGE bear problem. They want to give it
2 weeks to see if it comes back. If it does they will
try a catch and a hard release on him. That is where
Mishka the Karelian Bear Dog comes in. Mishka is a \
beautiful dog who belonged to Rocky Spencer, who was tragically
killed in a helicopter accident in 2007. He was a dear friend and is missed.
Mishka now lives with Bruce Richards who works for the fish and game
dept. Mishka is a bear dog and his training is the best. You can
read what they do on the wdfw.wa.gov site. Just google bear dog.
It was good to see Mishka again.
Friday I had lunch with the posse. We ate a
Pallino Pasteria and yes this time I broke
my diet. "me bad" But it was sooooooo good!
Today Saturday I am cleaning house all day. :-(
And watching for bear!
Happy weekend.

Teddy's 7th Birthday!

Well today was Teddy's 7th birthday and all he wanted
was a carrot cake. So that is what he got. Have you ever
tried to stick carrots in dog food. :-(
He attacked it from every angle and totally
enjoyed himself. Seven carrots for seven
wonderful years with my best friend.
My Best Friend
Thank you for making my life joyful!

We are Back From Our Road Trip

We left Washington in a deluge of rain, but as we
headed south towards Mount Shasta things cleared up.
Down through California on the
Grape Vine things really started
to heat up, around 98 degrees.
Coming into Tucson and 100 degrees. Way
too hot. Stayed for 2 days then headed back
across the desert in the heat towards the
California coast.
4,000 plus feet and 104 degrees.
Water I need water mom.
Oh the lovely coast of Laguna Beach and only
80 some degrees.
Wonderful trees sculpted by the wind.
Climbing geraniums at least 12 feet high.
Dining outside by the ocean. (the man in the
background was feeding the birds, click to
enlarge, funny)
On the road again going N. This was up at
Weed, California. Weather was great.
The coast at Lincoln City Oregon.
Teddy thought this was great.
The carousal at Seaside, Oregon.
The weather changed at Gearhart Oregon and
Teddy got caught in a sand storm.
All tuckered out and ready for the trip home
the next day.
It was a fun two weeks and now
I need a vacation from our vacation!
So that's where I've been. This was Teddy's
first long trip and he was a perfect little
gentleman.

Teddy and I are Off...

Teddy and I are taking a little R and R!!!!
Back soon.
