Happy 4th of July

Sunny and warm makes a gorgeous  July 4th.
Hanging baskets near the front are loving this weather.
Taking time to reflect all that this day stands for
and  thinking of our men and women serving our country.
Thank you.

January 2013 Calendar

(Do click on photo for better view)

I can't believe it's 2013 and I have a
calendar  due for January. So here
it is. I think the New Years baby
should put some clothes on as it
is very cold outside and he is looking
a little blue. (my paint ran, oops) Sunny but oh
so cold.
Drop by Kathryn Wheel for a peek at all the fun
calendars.

I'm back...sort of

Sorry I have not been here but I went from bad
to worse. Couldn't hardly talk at all and then a cold set in.
I have not been sick for years and I think I must have
picked something up while at the hospital. So it really
was a double whammy. I still have a very strange voice
and must talk ever so softly. I was trying to call Teddy
in the other day and had no voice at all. Total
frustration.
Then DH decided to upgrade my computer and  that
has been a whole new learning experience to say the
least. I couldn't get on photo shop,etc.
But all is on the mend now and I am readying myself
for the bazaar the day after Thanksgiving.
I hope to have photos to show in a day or two. I tried to
make an assortment of things besides my paintings. It
was actually fun coming up with ideas.
Anyhow here is my November calendar for
Kathryn Wheel.
A tad late but it's done. One more to go and I will
have made them for the whole year. I'll be back soon I
hope with pictures to show.
I want to thank all of you who left messages, they really
meant a lot to me, I was just to out of it to respond until now.

October? Where Did September Go....

October already and yes the leaves are starting to Fall. I
know this because Teddy my Bichon always thinks the sky is
falling and barks at the leaves.
September was sun filled and gorgeous. One morning it rained
and for living in Washington state that is amazing.
Enjoy more calendars over  at Kathryn Wheels blog. Her
link is on my sidebar.
Thanks Kate ....2 months to go... I just might make it.

Where Did August go.... and Whidbey Island

September Calendar and on time for once.
Yes soon we will be raking leaves and the squirrels
will be packing nuts away. We took a day trip to
Whidbey Island (a favorite place)

The ferry ride leaving Edmonds. The Edmonds Light House.
One of the beaches we roamed looking for
sea glass , of course. I found one tiny light blue
and that was enough for me. I didn't want to be spoiled.
We moved on to the Windy Lavender Farm. A
darling place with delightful people to help me
pick out some culinary lavender and lavender cheese.
 Oh so yummy.

 Beautiful gardens and heavenly smells.
From here we moved on to Greenbank for lunch
at a restaurant we have visited many times.
Their pies and breads are the best.
Peaking out at their gardens, I knew I had to
photograph some for you to see.

We ended the evening before we caught the ferry for home
at Primo a restaurant in Langley. It was a beautiful evening
sitting outside looking down on the water (Puget Sound).
This picture just doesn't depict how lovely it was.
I was toooo lazy to get up to take a better shot.

Remember to visit Kathryn Wheels calendar
blog and see all the neat calendars. Thanks
again Kate. I just might make it through
December.

Better Late Than Never...I Think

I am late for a very important date!
That being my July calendar  with
Kathryn Wheel.
Life got in the way but here it is.
As you might see the last few days have been a bit
exciting. First fire watch went up to dangerous level
Sunday. I always get a little nervous when that
starts. Then last night my hero TEDDY let me know
that there was a HUGE  B-E-A-R below our deck.
I grabbed Teddy and got in the house just as the
bear came around to the deck stairs. He was not
at all frightened of us. Game department is
coming tomorrow to access the situation. They
caught one 2 years ago in our driveway and shipped him North
over the Cascades. The bear problem has really
escalated in the last year or two.
I no longer feel safe on the property
as they do not seem to fear us at all.
Here is my June calendar . As you can see
it wasn't filled out to well. I got tired of painting
clouds and raindrops. LOL That's my excuse
and I'm sticking with it.

Visit Kathryn Wheels blog to see all the calendars
people have made. You may have to scroll down a bit as
I am late. You can click on her button on the right.

June Calendar & May's End Calendar

of the day.....

For those who read the last post, I am doing
well. Threw the crutches out the window, went
to a cane and today it's out the window too. LOL
Thanks for all your wonderful notes. You just
don't know how much appreciated  they were
and are.
Now ever onward, I hope!

Bye Bye March, Hello April!!!!!

Let's hope April is a bit nicer.
But I will be prepared!!!!
It feel so empty but I hope to fill it up with lots of

A Bright New Year

A brand new year hopefully filled with wonderful and
exciting things. I awoke to a balmy 42 degrees, no snow and a
little sunshine peeking through the clouds.
I once again (big intentions, I hope to keep) have joined in  to do
the calendars with Kathryn Wheel. You can find her button on my side bar.
I was with friends over the holidays and the question of weather on a certain date in
Sept. came up. I went to my calendar and could tell them what the weather was and what
I did that day. They all got a laugh out of that.... so will try to keep the weather on it too.
My short way of journalism. I also hope to take a photo everyday of 2012. We shall
see if all these grandiose ideas stick. I am also joining the Strathmore art workshops. The
first one starts today and is by  Traci Bautista and shall take me out of my element.
Shall be shaking things up a bit in 2012.  Heaven help me...
So Happy First Day of 2012 everybody and lets get get a
wiggle on and be creative! LOL

August Calendar Ends & September Begins

Well August has ended and with a surprise!
The nigh of the 30th I went to cover up Tesula
our cockateil  who everyone thought was a boy...
and there SHE was in the bottom of the cage
making strange noises... when out came an egg.
So I spent a few hours making a nest for her and
reading up on google "what was going on!"
So that is my excuse for not quite finishing my
September calendar. But here is what I have
done so far.
I need to add the finishing touches... but have
to finish up some journals first. I shall return.
(click on photos to enlarge, if you like)

Calendar Art

I have enjoyed Terri Kahrs calendar art
for 6 months now. Then I had a light bulb
moment.!! (duh) Since I am no good at
keeping a diary but always wonder what I
did last year at this time, I could join this
group and do a artsy type calendar. This
I could attempt. So thank you queen of the arts
Ms. Terri Kahrs over at Pringle Hill Studio
for alerting my grey cells to another fun project.
Drop over and see her calendar for May. It's a WOW!
Actually this was all started by Kate
who lives just North of London UK.
Drop by there to see her lovely blog.
So I am off and running on another fun project,
plus filling my Grow journal with watercolors
of what is growing around Wildflower.
Click on the photo's for a closer look at what is
happening in my "exciting" (yawn) life.
OOPS! I forgot to tell you what I used to
make this. I used Copic markers and Micron pens!
