My heart is broken as I write this. Our dear Midnight is
now in heaven. This picture I took yesterday as she and I
sat in the sunshine (her favorite pastime). She had the most
gorgeous green eyes and beautiful shiny black fur. She
was a true lady right to the end.
Midnight came to live with us one sunny summer day.
She wandered up on our deck and decided to stay.
I might add that she was very, very pregnant at the
time. I took her in and kept her in and she blessed
us with nine (yes nine) kittens. Two gray, one tiger stripe,
two Siamese and four black. It was a zoo around here
for eight weeks and she was such a good mother to all
of them.We had them all neutered and put up for
adoption, except for three who had won our hearts.
This was thirteen years ago. The vet figured she was
fifteen now. She died of cancer. Surgery was not an option.
The three kittens we kept our waiting for her
as they have all passed away too.
So now I am having to help her buddy Teddy
understand and help him deal with the loss of
his pal. He has stopped eating but the vet
says this happens.
All our pets are family and they all have
brought us great joy. Miss Midnight you
are in our hearts forever.
Thank you for choosing us 13 years ago.
