Had a Little Visit to the Hospital Yesterday

The head nurse was very nice but I knew I
couldn't escape.
She made me wear this funny thing on my head.
Something about "Surgery Must Be Sterile", you know.
I think the bell was for finding me if I tried to escape....
They gave me a cocktail, said I
would enjoy it....

The Doctor said....
And that's all she wrote.....
I am now home resting up from a double whammy
as some would say. Had a colonoscopy and  a
endoscopy. Everything was fine but I have a
very sore throat and little or no voice.
DH enjoy it while you can for
they say the voice shall be back in a day or two.
Enjoy your weekend and know I shall never
schedule these things on the day after Halloween.
Think of all the candy I missed out on.

New Art Supplies....

My trip to Seattle last Friday was to Dick Blicks.
That store is like a candy store to me filled with
such wonderful things.
I can do  (and I did) some serious damage to
my art funds......
I mentioned that my trip was not without, shall we say
incidents!
I live East of Seattle in the Cascade foothills so
driving in Seattle can be challenging at times.
This is my list for last Friday...
1. Got stuck in the dark tunnel I-90 for
45 minutes due to an accident.
(now why couldn't I have been stuck
 looking at Lake Washington instead
of the dark tunnel with a bunch of big trucks?
2. Turned left behind Dick Blicks to come
head on with Seattle police car taking up the whole
road. (I panicked thinking I had turned into a one way-
the wrong way. Wrong he just wanted the
whole road to give some guy a ticket.
3. Had to park in a very dark (scary)
parking garage.
4. Went a little crazy at DB's depleting my budget
for 2012 thru 2013.....
5. Back in the car trying to leave the very scary
dark garage. Paid my money but the bar wouldn't
raise up to let me out. Took 2 phone calls, where they
asked for all this info (thought they were
going to ask for my birth certificate & fingerprints)
before they finally opened the bar 15 minutes later.
6. Took a wrong turn and drove about 8 miles
before the gray cells clicked in and I had to turn around.
7. As I approached the tunnel on I-90 going home I was
passed by a firetruck and ambulances. Yup another accident
just at the start of the tunnel. Traffic was down to 5miles an hour
through the tunnel ( but at least it didn't stop)!
What should have been a quick trip turned out to be 5 1/2 hours.
Next time I shall bring food, water,a book, and a porta potty.
The piece at the top of this lon-n-n-n-ng dissertation was done with my
new Inktense pencils. Am having fun experimenting with
all my purchases.

A Bright New Year

A brand new year hopefully filled with wonderful and
exciting things. I awoke to a balmy 42 degrees, no snow and a
little sunshine peeking through the clouds.
I once again (big intentions, I hope to keep) have joined in  to do
the calendars with Kathryn Wheel. You can find her button on my side bar.
I was with friends over the holidays and the question of weather on a certain date in
Sept. came up. I went to my calendar and could tell them what the weather was and what
I did that day. They all got a laugh out of that.... so will try to keep the weather on it too.
My short way of journalism. I also hope to take a photo everyday of 2012. We shall
see if all these grandiose ideas stick. I am also joining the Strathmore art workshops. The
first one starts today and is by  Traci Bautista and shall take me out of my element.
Shall be shaking things up a bit in 2012.  Heaven help me...
So Happy First Day of 2012 everybody and lets get get a
wiggle on and be creative! LOL

Two Friends...

This was sent to me by my dear cousin
Phyllis and I thought how true.
Thought you might all enjoy it.

Two friends
After losing his parents, this 3 year old orangutan was so depressed he wouldn't eat and didn't respond to any medical treatments. The veterinarians thought he would surely die from sadness. The zoo keepers found an old sick dog on the grounds in the park at the zoo where the orangutan lived and took the dog to the animal treatment center. The dog arrived at the same time the orangutan was there being treated. The 2 lost souls met and have been inseparable ever since.

The orangutan found a new reason to live and each always tries his best to be a good companion to his new found friend. They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities.

They live in Northern California where swimming is their favorite past time, although Roscoe (the orangutan) is a little afraid of the water and needs his friend's help to swim.
Together they have found the joy and laughter in life and the value of friendship.

They have a friendly shoulder to lean on.

Long Live Friendship!
I don't know......some say life is too short, others say it is too long, but I know that nothing that we do makes sense if we don't touch the hearts of others.......while it lasts!
